Working hard to save our planet: Transport Day at the COP26

Plant power, air quality measurements, electric mobility or sustainable technologies are some of the themes that will be discussed on the 10th of November, Transport Day at the COP26 (26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties).

The event, which takes place in Glasgow from the 31st of October to the 12th of November 2021, will bring together a large number of experts who will discuss five key areas: adaptation and resilience, nature, energy, transport and finance.

Specifically on the 10th, the Transport Day at the COP26 debate will be focused on speeding up the transport revolution. This process is key when it comes to preserving the environment, and there are multiple factors that play an important role in it.

In countries like the UK and the US, the transport sector is now responsible for emitting more greenhouse gases than any other, including electricity production and agriculture. Globally, transport accounts for around a quarter of CO2 emissions. Ambitious policies or incentives can help drive the adoption of clean energy solutions, but every step counts.

TROOP, minimizing carbon footprint

That’s why at TROOP we work day by day to help minimize carbon footprint while planning meetings, giving organisers the opportunity to choose the most eco-friendly meetings and events planning strategy.

Until now, the way in which meetings have been planned has been far from efficient: manual processes in which factors such as pollution and environmental degradation are not taken into account, not to mention costs or security.

There are many factors to consider when planning a meeting, details such as how you decide to travel to the airport or choosing direct flights; it all has an impact on CO2 emissions and local air quality.

TROOP enables users to quickly and easily identify a destination that’s accessible, sustainable, safe and appealing for everyone. Planning meetings with knowledge of the CO2 impact allows companies to make better decisions allowing them to meet their sustainability goals. And that’s not all: in the process, it helps save money through cost comparisons.

This Summit brings the world together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Join the movement towards more sustainable meetings and learn more about how TROOP can help you meet your carbon targets.
